William Cunningham (b. 1946) was born in Co. Down, N. Ireland.
He attended universities in Belfast, York and London. He lectured for several years and then he had his first solo exhibition at the Tom Cromie Gallery in 1978.
William is largely self-taught and even though he has been painting professionally for over 40 years he continues to strive to develop as an artist. His paintings celebrate universal themes of family, place and time. and his use of vibrant colour enhances his renditions of seaside holidays, cornfields by moonlight, sunsets and beach scenes.
He is widely respected throughout his native Province for his integrity both as an artist and as a fine human being. We have enjoyed every minute of our 35 year relationship with him.
